All we are in photographs

random thoughts from a trainride in tokyo

if i have a kid,
i would want him to be curious.
to want to find out the way things work,
but a continuous curiosity at that,
such that he will be humble,
and able to withstand doubts and misunderstandings.
from there, along with determination or a never give up spirit,
he will be a smart and humble person that is respected by his friends and colleagues.
he may not be understood by me,
but i should try to understand his way of thinking in order to drive him towards the goal i want for him.

he should have good morals to be able to be a good person.
he will experience many different people along the way of his life,
he has to maintain his morals along the way,
to stay within the goal of being a 'smart and humble person respected by his mates'.
people will judge his way of thinking,
but i do not want him to be read as 'proud' nor 'smartass'.
i want him to be read as 'wow' and 'awesome'.
thus his good morals must be there to guide him to be a good person.

i dont want him to be a bad person.
i dont want him to lie, cheat, steal nor bully to get his ways.
i want him to be independent.
to be able to accumulate knowledge and wealth not just by himself, but not hurting anyone in the process.

i want him to enjoy being continually curious,
such that he'll be a content man,
where he does not seek material gains,
where he will be happier with each and every additional material or non-material item he obtains.


and that is also the goal i have for myself.
